People Behind the Logo – Meet Áine Redmond, Ireland Operations Manager at Apleona Ireland

At Apleona, our team doesn’t just collaborate—they fuel each other to grow. Áine Redmond embodies that spirit as our Ireland Operations Manager, bringing nearly a quarter-century of on-site expertise and leadership to every challenge.

From day one to today

Áine’s journey with Apleona began in April 2021, arriving via a TUPE transfer when an account transitioned into our portfolio. Her extensive on-site experience—spanning 25 years—has made her a cornerstone of knowledge and stability in our operations.

Describing a typical day, Áine says: “My day starts with lots and lots of answering or sending emails, then meetings throughout the day. I’m always hosting visitors at my desk when on site, so there’s a lot of sharing of site knowledge.”

Outside work, Áine cherishes time with family. She prioritises visiting her 95 year old father a couple of times a week and loves to spend time with her two granddaughters. Weekends she likes to walk with friends, dinners with loved ones, and simply to relax.

What motivates her

Áine draws inspiration from her site crew, who motivate her to be the best she can and help navigate even the oddest questions. She also relies on guidance of her Market Lead, and Associate Director—trusted mentors who shape her leadership.

Since joining Apleona, Áine has grown through collaboration with colleagues who share knowledge and encourage personal growth. She credits essential skills such as patience, empathy, and treating everyone with equal respect as key strengths gained on the job.

Memorable moments

Perhaps her most lighthearted standout was pulling off a sumo suit and sliding across a slippery mat to win a competition during Apleona’s QBR summer event in 2024.

Three words to describe Apleona’s work culture

Supportive, Innovative, Challenging.

A challenge handled with professionalism

The toughest period Áine has faced involved closing three sites since 2021. She managed high-stress transitions by motivating and supporting her team throughout projects, remaining professional and fair at every step.

Advice to a new team member

“If a new person was joining tomorrow, I’d say: be adaptable. Identify and fill your skill gaps, learn from everyone around you—and strive to be the mentor others seek out.”
